Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Ex-Assistant Testifies on Alleged Assaults

A former assistant of Sean "Diddy" Combs, testifying under the pseudonym Mia, emotionally recounted to a Manhattan federal jury incidents of alleged beatings, humiliation, and sexual assault she endured during her eight years working for the rap mogul. Mia described feeling completely controlled by the Bad Boy Records founder, stating, "I couldn’t tell him no about a sandwich. I couldn’t tell him no about anything."

Mia shared that she grew up in Virginia Beach and had prior experience in low-level jobs for former model and fashion designer Georgina Chapman and as an assistant to comedian Michael Meyers. She landed the job with Combs in 2009 at the age of 25. She recounted her initial excitement and nervousness, and an early discrepancy in her expected salary of $55,000 a year, which turned out to be $50,000.

According to Mia's testimony, Combs began crossing professional boundaries from her first day. She was taken to his Manhattan apartment by his chief of staff, Toni Fletcher, where Combs reportedly opened the door in his underwear. In her first week, Mia claimed she did not sleep for five days due to fear of missing a call from Combs and relied on Adderall to stay awake. She described a life tethered to her cellphone, constantly anticipating Combs’ commands and remaining within his "eyesight and earshot," involved in everything from "cracking his knuckles to doing his taxes to writing his next movie."

Mia testified about Combs' 40th birthday party at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. She stated that Combs took her into the kitchen, dismissed others, gave her a pep talk, and they did two shots of vodka. Mia reported feeling woozy afterward, at which point Combs allegedly pressed her up against a wall, kissed her, and put his hand up her dress.

Within a year of starting her job, Mia alleged that Combs raped her in his Los Angeles house. She tearfully described going to bed in the lower bunk bed of one of his children’s rooms on the second floor of his Hollywood home. She testified that he came into the room during the night and forced himself on her. "I just froze. I didn’t react," she said, expressing feelings of being "terrified and confused and ashamed."

Mia detailed another alleged sexual attack where, while she was packing his luggage for a trip, Combs suddenly appeared before her, exposed, and forced her to perform a sex act. This experience made her feel "like trash," "scared and ashamed and defeated and like an idiot." She also testified about a fourth incident on a private jet, which she said she couldn't fully remember, but recalled saying "no, no, no" as he confronted her in a sleeping area of the plane.

Beyond sexual assault, Mia accused Combs of physical violence. She testified that he slammed her arm in a bathroom door, threw her into a pool, and hurled objects at her, including a bowl of spaghetti, a computer, and a phone.

Mia, referring to Combs by his other nickname "Puff," explained to the court why she never reported the alleged incidents to the police. She stated her belief that "Puff’s authority was above the police." She also feared losing her position within his media empire, where he had started a TV production company with her, fulfilling her dream of working in creative development. She expressed her fear of being silenced, punished, exiled, and losing her reputation and everything she had worked for, saying, "I was going to die with this. I didn’t want anyone to know ever. I would have been silenced. I would have been punished, I would have been exiled from my second family. I would have lost my reputation. I would have lost everything."

The testimony is part of Combs' ongoing racketeering and sex trafficking trial. The 55-year-old rap entrepreneur is accused of using his business empire to force his girlfriends to have sex with male sex workers and threatening them with public humiliation, financial, and professional ruin if they refused. Combs has pleaded not guilty. His lawyers acknowledged during opening arguments that jurors might not like him after hearing some testimony, characterizing him as a bad boss and a toxic boyfriend, but argued that his misdeeds do not amount to federal crimes.

Mia is scheduled to return to the stand on Friday to continue her testimony.
