Sarah Monique Discusses Fusion of Tejano and Christian Music in 'Ven' | Tejano 1600
In a recent interview on with hosts and , Sarah Monique opened up about the inspiration behind Ven and her journey of combining Tejano and Christian music.

“I’ve always loved Tejano music,” she shared. “During my time away from music, I wanted to incorporate worship. A lot of people think it’s boring—but God is the creator of all music. So, He created Tejano too. I just incorporated what I love with praising God.”
That mission has found its way into her live performances as well. Sarah Monique explained how her concerts have transformed into uplifting experiences that go beyond entertainment.
“Every opportunity I’ve had in my last shows, we’ve thrown in a worship song, given thanks and glory, and prayed on stage. I’m really blessed that I’m able to do that.”
The title track “Ven”, now the second single from the EP, is a deeply personal story woven from Monique’s own life as well as heartfelt experiences shared by her fans, family, and friends.

“There were moments I felt a lot of love—and a lot of struggle,” she admitted, giving a nod to her husband as a source of inspiration. “The songs we selected for Ven reflect those moments of emotional highs and lows.”
The EP’s lead single, “En Qué Me Sirves,” is currently holding strong at No. 3 on the for the weekend of June 13–15, 2025. Monique credits her fans for that success.
“My fans mean everything to me,” she said. “I try to take care of them because they’re the reason I’m on radio and the reason I’m being requested.”
The singer also teased another upcoming release, “Rescátame,” a powerful song she co-wrote that will appear on her next project.
“Rescátame is for anyone who’s ever felt hopeless,” she revealed. “During my transition, there was a lot of crushing—surrendering things, feeling pain. I cried out to God, ‘I need you to help me because I can’t do this by myself.’ That’s what the song is about.”
Sarah Monique’s EP Ven is now available on all digital music platforms, and her fusion of Tejano rhythms with messages of faith is setting a new tone for the genre—one that’s deeply personal, spiritually grounded, and unapologetically authentic.
