Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has restated his administration’s commitment to inclusive development and responsive governance at the grassroots.

Governor Sanwo-Olu noted this during the official commissioning of 400m Standard Paved Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Road, Groundbreaking of the New Legislative Building, The Ibeju-Lekki Housing Estate, and the Newly Constructed Administrative Block  “Bola Ahmed Tinubu House,” in Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.

The governor said that impactful projects

carried out in Ibeju Lekki area of the state, “reflect the progressives that we have made and the true spirit of the THEMES+ Agenda, the power of purposeful and transformational leadership that is driving Lagos State forward.

“That’s why we are happy that in Ibeju Lekki, we can always hold a special place in our vision for a Greater Lagos.”

While expressing satisfaction with the projects, the governor said: ” “We’re happy to come into your community today. It’s a community that continues to thrive and do well. Every resident enjoys, and we can see the dividends of good governance.

“Today, we are unveiling projects. We believe it’s been a collaborative effort of government, partners, and the resilient people of this community.”

Affirming that it’s worthwhile to name one of the project, BAT House, after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu said:

“Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Building—The President, continues to receive accolades and continues to receive recognition, even whilst he’s in far away in Abuja. There’s nothing that is too much for us to do than to continue to put his name in indelible mark because of the growth and the transformation that he has held Lagos in the past two decades.”

Also at the event, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area Chairman, Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, said that the event marked a significant milestone in the journey to transform Ibeju-Lekki into a model of effective governance and sustainable development.

He expressed delighted that the landmark projects have been delivered within the first four years of the current administration.

Olowa said: “When we assumed office in mid-2021, we inherited the urgent task of building a new and modern council secretariat following the unfortunate tragedy that befell our local government a year earlier in 2020 when EndSars vandals burnt down the existing structures within the council secretariat.

“Time constraint would not permit our predecessors to initiate a reconstruction, hence our young administration took on the responsibility of restoring the local governments’ machinery of governance from the scratch.” “Today, by the grace of God, we have not only rebuilt but have also elevated these structures into modern, world-class facilities,” the local government boss added.

He noted: “This new secretariat complex provides a spacious, well-equipped, and technologically advanced environment, which addresses the longstanding challenges of inadequate office space and suboptimal working conditions.

“With high-speed internet, 24-hour solar lighting, CCTV surveillance, and a dedicated ICT center, l confidently declare that we have delivered one of the most advanced local government administrative and legislative complexes in Nigeria.”

“Similarly, our legislative arm, which is the cornerstone of democratic governance, will now operate from a befitting office accommodation that reflects the importance of their work,” he added.
