Saiyaara Film's Music Release and Production Insights

Yash Raj Films (YRF) and acclaimed director Mohit Suri are set to unveil their latest romantic drama, Saiyaara, marking their first-ever collaboration. The film, which introduces fresh talent to the silver screen, features debutant lead actors Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Aneet Padda is recognized for her role in the series 'Big Girls Don’t Cry', while Ahaan Panday is launched as a new YRF hero. Produced by YRF’s CEO Akshaye Widhani, Saiyaara is slated for a theatrical release on July 18, 2025.

A significant highlight of Saiyaara is its compelling soundtrack, which has consistently generated buzz and interest ahead of the film's release. So far, three tracks have been widely well-received: the title song 'Saiyaara', 'Barbaad' sung by Jubin Nautiyal, and 'Tum Ho Toh' sung by Vishal Mishra. Adding to the anticipation, the fourth song, 'Humsafar', performed by the popular musical duo Sachet–Parampara, is set to be released. This track marks Sachet–Parampara’s first collaboration with Mohit Suri and is described by the makers as capturing the essence of love when one finds the perfect companion, further teasing the evolving on-screen chemistry between Panday and Padda.

The title track, 'Saiyaara', holds particular significance as it introduced two fresh voices from Kashmir: Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami. Their debut in mainstream Hindi cinema represents a new wave of regional talent gaining prominence. Faheem and Arslan shared their journey from starting KMR – Kashmir Music Revolution Studio to taking a “leap of faith” with a 10-15 day trip to Mumbai, which ultimately led to their collaboration with composer Tanishk Bagchi and Mohit Suri. Despite feeling nervous recording in front of Mohit Suri, they were given creative freedom, contributing to the song’s soulful melody.

The title track has drawn comparisons to the 'old Bollywood era' for its nostalgic feel, a sentiment that Faheem and Arslan appreciate, attributing it to Mohit Suri’s vision of bringing back music-driven storytelling. They clarified that their song 'Saiyaara' was initially titled 'Saiya' and has no connection to the 2012 'Ek Tha Tiger' track of the same name. During the recording process, the duo also had the opportunity to meet Ahaan Panday, establishing a good rapport. On the subject of artificial intelligence in music, Faheem and Arslan hold strong views, emphasizing that while AI can replicate sound, it lacks the emotion and soul necessary for true art. They expressed a desire to hear 'Saiyaara' in the voice of legendary singer Rafi Saab.

Mohit Suri, celebrating his 20th year as a filmmaker, is renowned for directing successful romantic dramas such as 'Aashiqui 2', 'Malang', and 'Ek Villain'. YRF has a rich history with romantic films in India, with landmark titles directed by stalwarts like Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra. The film's title, 'Saiyaara', is deeply symbolic, literally meaning a 'wandering celestial body', often used in poetry to describe something dazzling, ethereal, or unattainable—a guiding star that remains out of reach. Mohit Suri's philosophy on romance, as expressed by him, highlights that “Flawed, imperfect people make perfect and complete love stories,” a theme expected to resonate throughout Saiyaara.
