35 Ward-based Saccos in Busia County have benefitted from 24.5 million shillings in efforts aimed at strengthening Saccos and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises to uplift rural communities and improve their economic well-being. Speaking in Busia Town, Principal Secretary for Micro, Small Enterprises, and Cooperatives, Susan Mang’eni, urged Sacco members to put the funds to prudent use. She said the money could help revive the rural economy and support edible oil production, reducing the country’s dependence on imported cooking oil.
