Amorim will take charge of his second Manchester derby on Sunday when Manchester City visit Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are hoping to bounce back from their defeat to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday but will also be keeping an eye on their quarter-final clash against Olympique Lyon.

Amad Diallo inspired Man United to an epic win over Man City in the first Manchester derby in December.

Pep Guardiola's side are seeking a top four place while the hosts have nothing to play for in the remaining eight games in the Premier League.

DeBruyne will likely play his final match at Old Trafford on Sunday and Amroim showered him with praise but threw in a cheeky dig.

"That is easy. He was like one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. The time passes to everyone so that is a natural thing. He improved the league. He was on the wrong side of Manchester! I wish him good luck," he said via MEN.

The Belgian has faced Man United 21 times and has a record of 10 wins, four draws and seven losses. He scored three goals and assisted three in those matches.

The 33-year-old has experienced a decline in the last few seasons but this campaign has been conspicuous. Injury has affected his performances and it remains to be seen where he will land.

De Bruyne has made 280 appearances in the Premier League and registered 70 goals and 118 assists. Only Ryan Giggs has more assists than the former Chelsea midfielder.

"He's one of the greatest in this country. Always I have to be careful for the respect for the players that have played incredible roles, but there's no doubt he's one of the greatest for sure," Guardiola said in his tribute to De Bruyne, per BBC Sport.

De Bruyne joined Man City in 2015 from Wolfsburg and went on to win 16 trophies with the English club, including six Premier League crowns.

"Whether we like it or not, it's time to say goodbye," De Bruyne wrote on social media. "This will always be our home. We cannot thank the city, club, staff, team-mates, friends, and family enough for this 10-year ride."

earlier reported that players and fans honoured Kevin De Bruyne with beautiful messages after his announcement.

His former teammates Riyad Mahrez, and Aymeric Laporte and football fans paid homage to the Belgium international.
