RevitaLash® Cosmetics Renews Commitment to Cancer Patients Through Cold Cap Program at Ridley-Tree Cancer Center

RevitaLash® Cosmetics, a prominent beauty brand recognized for its dedication to breast cancer research and patient support, has announced the renewal of its commitment to the Cold Cap Program. This program is facilitated through the Ridley-Tree Cancer Center and UCLA Medical Center in Santa Barbara. RevitaLash® Cosmetics has pledged a substantial two-year grant of $100,000 to bolster the program, in collaboration with the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara. This initiative is designed to offer crucial assistance to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments.
The grant from RevitaLash® Cosmetics will enable the Cold Cap Program to provide specialized scalp-cooling caps to eligible cancer patients. These caps are designed to help patients retain their hair during chemotherapy, a common and often distressing side effect of the treatment. The innovative Paxman system, globally recognized for its effectiveness, has already supported over 100,000 patients across more than 50 countries. This partnership reinforces RevitaLash® Cosmetics' Eternally Pink® pledge, which supports the fight against breast cancer in honor of the brand's co-Founder, Gayle Brinkenhoff's legacy.
Since 2008, RevitaLash® Cosmetics has contributed more than $9 million in donations, investments, and in-kind contributions to breast cancer initiatives worldwide. The brand aims to achieve a new milestone in 2025 through their Road to $10 Million goal. Dariel Sidney, Vice President of Philanthropy and daughter of Gayle Brinkenhoff, stated, "We believe in the transformative power of programs like the Cold Cap Program and the work being done at the Ridley-Tree Cancer Center and UCLA Medical Center. It is about more than hair; it's about preserving a patient's self-image and identity during a challenging time. RevitaLash Cosmetics is committed to supporting initiatives that promote hope and healing while making a real difference in the lives of those affected by cancer."
Lori Willis, Executive Director of the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with UCLA Health, stating, "We are so excited to partner with UCLA Health to expand access to their cancer patients for the Cold Cap Program generously funded by RevitaLash Cosmetics. Therapies like these are an important part of supportive care that treats the whole person, not just their cancer."
The Cold Cap system is specifically designed for use during chemotherapy treatments. It works by protecting hair follicles, which helps to prevent hair loss on the head. Ridley-Tree staff are trained to assist patients in properly wearing the cap and activating the cooling system. Currently, the program accommodates a limited number of patients, but there are aspirations to expand its reach with increased funding. Patients who are interested in learning more about the Cold Cap Program are encouraged to consult their medical oncologists.
