According to a Jon Rothstein report, IU Indy is set to name Ben Howlett as their new head men’s basketball coach. HoopDirt mentioned Howlett as a finalist last yesterday in the Daily Dirt.

Howlett has spent the past eight seasons as the head coach at D2 West Liberty, where he has gone 217-37 (.854). This past season, he led the Hilltoppers to a 30-5 (18-2) record and advanced to the NCAA D2 Elite Eight. During Howlett’s tenure at WL, he has won 26+ games each year (with the exception of the COVID shortened 2020-21 season when they went 18-5), and his teams have advanced to the NCAA tournament in each of his eight seasons.
