Bidunga will consider a return to Kansas, per Thamel’s reporting, but intends to weigh his options in the transfer market. He averaged 5.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 16.3 minutes off the bench during his first season with the Jayhawks.

Bidunga is originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, but moved to the United States for high school, starring at Kokomo High School. He was highly decorated at that level of play, winning the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year award as a junior and being named Indiana Mr. Basketball following his senior season.

Indiana and Purdue were among the programs involved in Bidunga’s original recruitment, but he ended up signing with Kansas over offers from Auburn, Duke and Michigan.

He’ll be among the most highly sought-after players in the portal this spring.
