Adeleke also calmed the frayed nerves of Osun indigenes on security matters, assuring them of his administration’s efforts to enhance security and surveillance across the state.

”I am delighted to share a progress video from the ongoing rehabilitation of Armoured Personnel Carrier Vehicles being refurbished by my administration as part of our cost-saving measures.

”In line with our commitment to completing all inherited and abandoned projects that hold value for the good people of Osun State and in our drive to enhance security and surveillance across the state, this initiative marks another significant milestone.

”The APC vehicles, originally acquired by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, were unfortunately abandoned by my predecessor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola. We have now revived the project, and the refurbishment of 11 out of a total of 22 APCs is nearing completion as part of the first phase,” Adeleke shared on X.

The Governor revealed that the refurbished vehicles will be deployed to the Nigeria Police Force, Osun State Command, to enhance security operations in the state.

”These vehicles will soon be deployed to the Nigeria Police Force, Osun State Command, to bolster security operations. Under my watch, no state asset that can serve the people of Osun will be left to waste,” he wrote.

In a related development, spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, revealed that Governor Adeleke was worried by the abandonment of the PACs, which are rusting away, and ordered the rehabilitation in batches, with the first 11 carriers now nearing the final stage of rehabilitation.

Rasheed declared in clear terms that the Adeleke administration was not interested in politics with bitterness, adding that its number one goal is to develop Osun and never allow any state assets to waste away.

“On the carriers are boldly written ‘rehabilitated by Governor Ademola Adeleke’ with the Governor waiting to launch the second phase immediately after the final rehabilitation and upgrade of the first 11.”
