The lifeless body of Nasibu Nguzo was discovered at a lodging facility known as Hagilo, located in Kingorwila ward, Morogoro municipality.
Hagilo Guest House manager, Mtwange Joseph, recounted the moment Nasibu arrived at the establishment asking for a room.
“He came and was shown several rooms. He selected room number 10, paid for it, provided his details, which we recorded in the guest book as required, and then left,” Joseph explained.
The businessman later returned with a woman who has yet to be identified. Together, they went into the room he had paid for.
“The woman left alone after a while. We don’t know what transpired between them, but we didn’t disturb the guest that evening or night,” said the manager.
The following morning, cleaners knocked on Nasibu’s door, but there was no response.
The cleaner alerted the manager, who opened the door and found the 55-year-old man’s body lying on the bed.
“I saw him lying on the bed with fluids coming from his mouth. I immediately called the police, who came to the scene and transferred his body to the Morogoro Regional Referral Hospital mortuary,” he shared.
He also mentioned that drugs were found in the room, which the businessman may have used prior to his sudden death.
A Morogoro police officer confirmed the incident, noting that investigations have been launched to determine the cause of death.
Authorities urged guest house owners and managers to ensure they collect full information about their guests, including home addresses, to assist in handling such cases.
“An autopsy will be conducted, and we will know what caused Nasibu’s death,” said the officer.

Online users reacted with concern and criticism, particularly over lax security and guest check-out procedures.
Mudy Zeke:
“Guest house staff make a serious mistake, though not all of them. You can’t just let someone leave without confirming whether their partner has approved it. What if a guest has committed a crime or theft and is escaping? In some guest houses, even if a man leaves early, they wake the woman to confirm she is allowed to go. Why not here?”
Shommy:
“May he rest in peace. In the end, we all walk the same path, whether death comes through someone’s plan or God’s will.”
Lazaro Kagata:
“May God grant him eternal rest. Amen! The problem with some men is their need to impress women, which leads them to take performance-enhancing drugs. They end up forcing the heart to pump unnaturally. You’re a five-minute man trying to prove yourself, but you’re only hurting yourself.”
In other news, reported that a 21-year-old woman was found dead in a lodging in Nairobi.
The young woman had reportedly checked into a room with an unidentified man in the Mukuru slums.
Police officers who assessed the scene said the woman had deep cuts on her neck, suggesting she was likely murdered.
