Ahead of the 2027 general elections, former lawmaker representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency, Honourable Muhammad Adam Alkali (Gwani), has officially defected from the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This was contained in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen in Gombe by his spokesperson, Abu-Maleek.

According to Maleek, Alkali’s decision to join the ruling party was informed by the developmental strides and economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu, whom he praised for ushering in a new wave of progress and democratic consolidation across the country.

“I am joining the APC because of the visible and impactful changes President Tinubu has brought to the nation, especially in the areas of economic revitalisation, infrastructure, and commitment to democratic ideals,” he stated.

The lawmaker added that his presence in the APC spells renewed hope for the people of Bassa, Jos North, and Plateau State at large.
