Princess Sofia of Sweden shares adorable matching moment with baby daughter Ines at royal outing
Royals are just like us – they cannot resist a good mommy-and-me monent when it comes to twinning with their little ones, and Princess Sofia of Sweden just proved it.
Over the weekend, the royal, who gave birth to her fourth child earlier this year, a daughter named Ines, made a surprise appearance with her little ones, as the Nordic country celebrated its National Day on June 6th.
Royally cute! 10 baby names the Swedish royals have been gatekeeping
And while little Princess Ines might only be four months old, the tot is clearly already getting into the National Day spirit as she was spotted dressed in a mini version of her mum’s national costume. Princess Sofia and her husband, Prince Carl Philip of Sweden, delighted onlookers when their daughter made a surprise appearance for the special occasion, joining mum and dad to officially open the palace to visitors.
According to the official website for the Swedish royal family, Princess Sofia, 40, is on maternity leave at the moment, but decided to surprise royal watchers by bringing baby Ines to help open the royal palace in Stockholm last Friday.
Like her daughter, Sofia was also dressed in a national costume with the colours of the Swedish flag. After opening the gates, Princess Sofia greeted members of a Scout group with Ines in her arms.
However, while Prince Carl Philip, 44, joined members of his family for the main proceedings, his wife opted to spend the rest of the day privately with their young family. The couple, who will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary soon, are also parents to three sons – Prince Alexander, nine, Prince Gabriel, seven, and Prince Julian, four.

Little Ines might be a Princess, but, like her brothers, she does not hold an HRH title. The infant was, however, made the Duchess of Västerbotten by her grandfather, King Carl Gustaf, from birth. The little princess made her first official appearance at just two months old, joining her family on the palace balcony to celebrate King Carl XVI Gustaf’s birthday.
A royal Christening
The royals’ appearance for National Day comes just days ahead of Princess Ines’ Christening at the Palace Chapel in Stockholm this coming Friday, June 13th. And the date is no doubt extra special for the little Princess’ parents, as it coincides with Carl Philip and Sofia’s tenth wedding anniversary.
This is also the very same church that the happy couple got married in back in 2015.
Ines, who is eighth in line to the throne, is expected to wear the Swedish royal christening gown at her baptism next week.
