Transport minister Anthony Loke has said the findings of the investigation into recent fatal crash that killed nine Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel will be presented to the cabinet next week, The Star reports.

“The preliminary report from the special task force will be tabled at the post-cabinet meeting next week. We have given the task force 30 days for this. I will present it to cabinet myself before we decide on the next course of action,” Loke said at the transport ministry’s headquarters yesterday (June 4, 2025).

The incident, which occurred on May 13, involved an FRU truck and a lorry carrying sand, with the latter colliding into the forner along Jalan Chikus-Sungai Lampam in Teluk Intan, Perak.

Following this, a special task force was formed to investigate the root cause of the incident, including identifying any systemic weaknesses in road safety measures. Additionally, it will also reassess existing guidelines, infrastructure and the application of safety technologies to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
