The highly anticipated celebrity boxing match between Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington and singer Portable has concluded, with Portable emerging victorious. The fight, which took place on April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, was the culmination of months of online sparring and heated exchanges between the two artists.

The rivalry ignited when Speed Darlington invited Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, to perform at his show, offering him N500,000. Portable rejected the offer, deeming it insufficient and mocking Darlington's financial status, claiming his performance fee was N20 million. Darlington responded by accusing Portable of disrespecting his mother, further escalating the conflict. Portable then challenged Darlington to a boxing match, boasting of his previous victories, including a win against actor Charles Okocha.

The match, tagged ‘Chaos In The Ring’ and sanctioned by the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control, started intensely. Portable gained the upper hand in the first round, landing several punches. However, Speed Darlington has claimed that Portable used black magic, or 'juju,' during the match. He stated that his shoulder dislocated, preventing him from continuing, despite not feeling tired. He expressed regret over the lost prize money, which he intended to use to build a swimming pool in his village.

Speed Darlington's explanation for his defeat has been met with mixed reactions on social media, with some Nigerians questioning his claim of 'juju' and others criticizing his fighting skills. Some viewers suggested that the match was scripted.

This victory marks Portable's third win in celebrity boxing matches. He previously defeated Charles Okocha in December 2023 and Kelvin Power, Kizz Daniel's bodyguard, in February 2024. Meanwhile, before the fight, Speed Darlington was seen buying a coffin for Portable.

The fight ended with a technical knockout (TKO) in favor of Portable after Speed Darlington failed to rise for the second round.
