Virtus Segafredo Bologna has shared that power forward Achille Polonara is currently hospitalized at Sant’Orsola Malpighi in Bologna after being diagnosed with myeloid leukemia. Over the last few weeks, Polonara has undergone specialized medical tests, which confirmed the diagnosis. In October 2023, Polonara underwent surgery to address a testicular tumor which made him follow a chemotherapy treatment, returning to action in mid-December 2023.
Euroleague Basketball joins the entire Virtus Segafredo Bologna organization, the European basketball family and anyone close to Achille and his loved ones to wish him a speedy recovery.
