Police nab suspect with 120 slabs of suspected narcotics
The National Highway Patrol Unit of the Ghana Police Service has arrested a man for unlawful possession of suspected narcotic drugs during a targeted intelligence-led operation in the Greater Accra Region.
The suspect, identified as Ernest Mohamed Adjiri, was apprehended while transporting the substances in a Hyundai i10 taxi with registration number GW 9832-22.
According to police sources, officers retrieved 120 slabs of compressed dried leaves, believed to be narcotic drugs, concealed in three fertiliser sacks on board the vehicle.
During interrogation, Adjiri reportedly admitted ownership of the substances.
He is currently in police custody and is expected to be arraigned before court as investigations continue.
