The Eagles’ blowout victory over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX reflected well on Tom Brady’s legacy — with plenty of the chatter surrounding Patrick Mahomes leapfrogging Brady as the greatest QB of all time quieting down after KC’s 40-22 defeat.

But Brady — who called Philadelphia’s victory as Fox’s lead color analyst on the broadcast — did not escape unscathed from yet another Eagles victory on football’s largest stage.

Shortly after the Eagles captured their second Lombardi Trophy, former Philadelphia QB Nick Foles took to social media to land a dig against Brady.

“It’s really cool that Tom Brady got to be there for the Eagles’ two Super Bowl wins!,” Nick Foles posted to X. “He might be a good luck charm.”

Have a great night!

Brady’s presence in the arena has been a hallmark of the Eagles’ two Super Bowl wins — with Foles and Philadelphia defeating Brady in the Patriots in Super Bowl LII in January 2018.

While Brady was in the broadcast booth for Sunday’s game, his appearance was enough for Foles to twist the knife yet again for one of the more frustrating losses in Brady’s standout career.

Foles and the Eagles diced up the Patriots’ defense en route to that first Super Bowl title in 2018, dropping 41 points in what stands as the highest-scoring Super Bowl in NFL history.

Philly’s victory spoiled one of Brady’s best performances, with the Patriots QB throwing for 505 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions in a losing effort. New England didn’t punt the ball once all game in Super Bowl LII.

Brady and Foles have exchanged several barbs at one another over the years — with Brady in particular catching flak for snubbing Foles in multiple postgame handshakes after that Super Bowl upset.

“I try to be a good sport as best as I can,” Brady said of avoiding Foles during postgame handshakes in 2022. “I know it doesn’t always look like that because sometimes I get a little pissed out there, but for the most part, I try to be a good sport.”

Brady’s relationship with Foles was examined during the NFC Championship Game between the Eagles and Commanders last month, with Foles highlighted by Fox’s cameras while watching the game at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field.

“Nick Foles in the building,” Fox’s lead play-by-play broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt said. “Super Bowl MVP that led to that Super Bowl win. Who did he play in that game? Do you know who he played that game?”

“Nick, I don’t hate you,” Brady responded. “I’m just jealous of you. You caught it, I didn’t.”

Brady’s comments are referring to a pair of trick plays in Super Bowl LII — with Brady unable to corral a throw from Danny Amendola that would have put New England in the red zone during the second quarter.

While the Patriots eventually turned the ball over on downs during that drive, Foles hauled in a touchdown catch later in that quarter in what is now called the infamous “Philly Special” trick play.

Considering that Brady and Foles recently filmed a commercial together for NOBULL, it does appear that any animosity between QBs has all been settled. Still, Foles couldn’t resist in landing a jab against Brady after the Eagles’ latest triumph.
