for Nigerian pilgrims will begin on June 9.
In a statement marking Eid al-Adha, Usman said arrangements have been finalised for the smooth repatriation of pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.
“As we mark Eid, we bring good news: the return journey for Nigerian pilgrims will begin on the 13th of Dhul-Hijjah,” the statement reads.
“The first flights will include pilgrims from Imo State with Air Peace, Bauchi State with Max Air, and Kebbi and Sokoto States with Flynas.”
He asked pilgrims to prepare for their return and assured all Nigerians that NAHCON is committed to a seamless process.
The NAHCON chair congratulated Muslims on the Eid celebration, particularly those who witnessed the Day of Arafat.
“May Allah accept your prayers and sacrifices, and those of other Muslims too,” he said.
Reflecting on the essence of hajj, Usman encouraged Muslims to adopt values such as trust in Allah, discipline, and obedience — principles he said can transform communities and nations.
He praised Nigerian pilgrims for their patience and discipline throughout the hajj, describing their conduct as exemplary.
Usman also thanked the state Muslim pilgrims’ welfare boards for their coordination and support, which he said contributed significantly to the smooth running of the pilgrimage.
“To our staff and ad-hoc workers who served pilgrims, even while in ihram, your sacrifice has not gone unnoticed,” he said.
He extended appreciation to President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima for their support, saying it played a key role in the successful execution of the Hajj operations.
Usman concluded with a promise that NAHCON would continue to improve service delivery with the cooperation of stakeholders.
