PH sends 3 HS standouts to NBA, FIBA's Basketball Without Borders
AS the NBA and FIBA’s global basketball development and community outreach program returns to Asia, the Philippines will send three high school players to join 60 young standouts from across the continent for the event on June 19 to 22 in Singapore.
The 15th BWB Asia Camp will be part of the NBA’s new multi-day basketball and entertainment festival, which will culminate in the league’s first Rising Stars Invitational.
Bannering the country are Rob Celiz and Paul Barcelona in the boys’ roster, and Zaydhen Rosano for the girls’.
They are among the 30 boys and 30 girls aged 17 and under from across the Asia-Pacific who will learn directly from star-studded players and coaches mentoring the camp.
Kai Sotto, Andy Gemao, and Kieffer Alas were among the former PH representatives at BWB in past years.
The campers will be coached by 2024 NBA champion Derrick White (Boston Celtics), 2024 NBA All-Star Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers), Duop Reath (Portland Trail Blazers), WNBA legend and 2025 FIBA Hall of Fame inductee Ticha Penicheiro, and current NBA assistant coaches Vinay Bhavnani (Toronto Raptors), Jared Dudley (Dallas Mavericks), Ronald Nored (Atlanta Hawks) and Khalid Robinson (Golden State Warriors).

President of the World Association of Basketball Coaches Patrick Hunt will serve as camp director, while Katherine Babcock (Memphis Grizzlies) will serve as the camp’s athletic trainer.
BWB Asia 2025 will be part of the NBA’s new multiday immersive basketball and entertainment festival in Singapore that will culminate with the “NBA Rising Stars Invitational,” the league’s first regional high-school basketball tournament that will feature boys’ and girls’ teams from 11 countries across Asia-Pacific competing at the Kallang Tennis Hub from Wednesday, June 25 – Sunday, June 29.
The players and coaches will lead the campers through a variety of activities, including movement efficiency drills, offensive and defensive skill stations, three-point contests, 5-on-5 games, and life-skills and leadership development sessions.
A ceremony on the final day of the camp will award the Kim Bohuny MVP, the Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award, the Three-Point Champion and the Defensive MVP to the male and female players who distinguish themselves on the court and as leaders.
As part of BWB Asia 2025, on Friday, June 20, the NBA will host a youth clinic for boys and girls from SportCares, Sport Singapore’s philanthropic arm dedicated to empowering Individuals from vulnerable backgrounds through sport, as well as a coaches clinic with FIBA on Saturday, June 21.
BWB Asia 2025 will be supported by Nike, a global partner of BWB since 2002, which will outfit participants in the tournament.
