The Sultanate of Oman has lauded King Mohammed VI's persistent efforts, in his capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to defend the Holy City and preserve its historical and civilisational identity. This acknowledgement of the King's crucial role in supporting the Palestinian cause, especially concerning Al-Quds Asharif, was highlighted in a joint communiqué issued during the 7th session of the Moroccan-Omani Joint Commission.

The session, held in Muscat on Sunday, was co-chaired by Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Oman’s Foreign Minister, Badr Bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al Busaidi. The communiqué underscored the strong bilateral relations between the two nations and their shared commitment to regional stability and cooperation.

Furthermore, the Sultanate of Oman reiterated its unwavering support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco over its entire national territory. Oman also expressed its profound appreciation for the Moroccan leadership’s dedication to achieving a peaceful resolution that fosters security and stability within the Maghreb region.

The Omani government described Morocco’s autonomy initiative for the Sahara as a “serious and realistic” proposal, affirming that it provides a credible foundation for resolving the Moroccan Sahara issue. This firm position was articulated within the joint communiqué released following the 7th Moroccan-Omani Joint Commission, further solidifying the alignment of views between the two countries on critical regional matters.

The discussions during the Joint Commission reflect the depth of the relationship between Oman and Morocco and their mutual desire to promote peace, security, and cooperation in the region. The Sultanate of Oman's consistent support for Morocco's territorial integrity and its recognition of the King's role in the Al-Quds Committee highlight the strong diplomatic ties and shared strategic interests between the two nations.
