Noted Saudi doctors felicitate teacher 3 decades after leaving school
Cairo: A group of prominent Saudi doctors have recently gathered to celebrate their teacher, who taught them nearly 30 years ago.
The event was held in the Al Majardah governorate, part of the Asir region in Saudi Arabia's south west, in a gesture of appreciation and gratitude to Saleh Mohammed bin Khader, who had taught them at an intermediate and secondary school.
The gesture came upon an initiative of Dr Ajlan Ahmed Al Qarzai, a Harvard-graduated consultant neurologist, who holds a bachelor's degree from King Saud University, the Saudi Board of Neurology, and an American fellowship in nervous system disorders.
Other colleagues were Dr. Hassan bin Rafeh, a consultant general psychiatrist and forensic psychiatrist; and Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Hussaini, a consultant of internal medicine and nephrology, and a faculty member of the College of Medicine at King Khalid University.
They expressed appreciation for their ex-teacher's efforts.
"Our teacher taught us a lot. We were taught by him from the first year of intermediate school until the third year of high school," said Dr bin Rafeh, according to the Saudi news portal Sabq.
"We immensely benefitted from his lessons. Years after graduation, I'm today meeting my teacher again. I am happy as his teaching was reflected in our academic and practical lives," the prominent professional added.
Bin Rafeh praised the ex-teacher as a hard-working and intellectual person. "We benefitted from him in medicine and beyond," he said.
