'Nobody Wants This' Season 2 Announces October 23 Premiere

The highly anticipated second season of the Netflix rom-com "Nobody Wants This" is set to premiere on Thursday, October 23, 2025. The announcement was made on Sunday, June 1, by the cast and creators during Netflix's FYSEE LA Emmy Event, which celebrated the show's successful first season.

Key cast members including Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Justin Lupe, Timothy Simons, and Jackie Tohn, alongside series creator Erin Foster and executive producer Sara Foster, shared the news live on stage. A promotional video was also released, featuring the cast humorously using a magic eight ball to reveal "scoops" about the upcoming season, culminating in Brody, in character as Rabbi Noah, confirming the Season 2 premiere date.

The first season of "Nobody Wants This" quickly became a hit, leading Netflix to announce its renewal in October 2024. The season finale left audiences with a significant cliffhanger regarding the relationship between the main characters, Noah (Brody) and Joanne (Bell). Erin Foster expressed her excitement about continuing the story, emphasizing her joy in viewers' reactions and her commitment to portraying "healthy relationships being the most romantic."

"Nobody Wants This" is inspired by Erin Foster's own real-life love story with her husband, Simon Tikham. The series centers on the evolving relationship between Noah, a newly single and charming rabbi, and Joanne, an agnostic and outspoken dating podcaster, as they navigate their significant cultural differences and the challenges that arise.

In addition to Kristen Bell and Adam Brody reprising their lead roles, most of the primary cast is set to return for the second season. This includes Justin Lupe as Joanne's sister Morgan, Timothy Simons as Noah's brother Sasha, Jackie Tohn as Esther, and Sherry Cola as Ashley. Other cast members from the series include Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, and Shiloh Berman.

Season 2 will also introduce new faces. Leighton Meester, Adam Brody's real-life wife, will guest star as Abby, described as Joanne's middle school nemesis who has become an "Instagram mommy influencer." Miles Fowler is set to play Lenny, Noah’s Matzah Ballers teammate, who gets set up with Joanne’s sister, Morgan. Other guest stars announced for the new season include Alex Karpovsky and Arian Moayed.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody have shared their perspectives on the show's appeal. Bell highlighted the complexity of the issues at play, comparing it to a modern "Romeo and Juliet" where audiences root for the couple despite external pressures and internal struggles. Brody expressed his intrigue in playing a faith-based character, a departure from his own personality, and found the script charming.

The first season of "Nobody Wants This" is currently available for streaming on Netflix. Fans can look forward to the continuation of Noah and Joanne's story when Season 2 premieres on October 23, 2025.
