With all the resources and Human capital endowed on the Giant of Africa we are still yet to attain the heights envisioned by our founding fathers. As a country with a Democracy spanning over 26 years we are yet to enjoy the dividends of a modern and Buoyant Democracy. Many often ask”where did we get it wrong?”a question with a million answers.
It is undeniable that this generation of Nigerian youths have turned out to be a more informed generation with the advent of Technology and social media, Our youths have continued to break barriers and achieve soaring heights in areas of Medicine, sports, Entertainment etc on the global landscape but when it comes to domestic political matters we have decided to take the backseat.
This attitude has contributed greatly to where Nigeria finds itself now, without degenerating into criticism of our countrys current state I would put it lightly that this is not the Nigeria of our dreams.
Out of the 250 million Nigerians 150 million are youths,We must stop playing the ignorant card when it comes to National politics,we must rise beyond ethnic and religious divide to assume the center stage in shaping our country’s future.
We must inculcate a more nationalistic and patriotic culture into our everyday life,we must be actively involved in shaping up policies that will see to the growth of our country and also cement our role as the GIANTS OF AFRICA.
It is indeed time for Nigeria to put her best foot forward of which I strongly believe is our youth population.
