The Federal Ministry of Finance has signed an agreement for Nigeria to host the 2025 Afreximbank Annual Meetings (AAM2025).
Afreximbank is a pseudonym for the African Export-Import Bank, also called the Banque Africaine d’Import-Export.
It is an institution under the African Development Bank (AfDB) established to promote and finance intra- and extra-African trade.
The 2025 Afreximbank Annual Meetings will be held in Abuja from June 23 to June 27, 2025.
This year’s edition will focus on themes such as strengthening cross-border trade, Africa’s role in global trade and expansion opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Over 5,000 delegates, including policymakers, investors, and financial experts from across the world, are expected to grace the meetings.

Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, and the Afreximbank President, Professor Benedict Oramah, graced the signing ceremony.
Other notable dignitaries present were Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris; Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Finance Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya; Permanent Secretary Special Duties Mr. Raymond Omenka; Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Health Kachollom Shangti Daju; among others.
While addressing the attendees at the ceremony, Edun noted that it is an honour for Nigeria to host the 2025 Afreximbank Annual Meetings.
Oramah expressed optimism that Nigeria would fortify its influence in shaping Africa’s financial landscape by hosting this year’s edition of the Afreximbank Annual Meetings.
