Nigeria should halt importation of construction materials - Scholar
The Head, Estate Management Department, Lagos State University (LASU), Dr Nkolika Joy Peter, has emphasised the need to curb Nigeria’s dependence on imported construction materials.
Peter, who stands out as a driving force for sustainable change in the country, made this suggestion amid the rising construction cost in Nigeria.
The university teacher, who blends academic expertise with real-world insight, focusing on property valuation, land use management, and environmental sustainability, said: “This goes beyond economics; it impacts housing, infrastructure, and national development.”
With 50+ publications and a strong presence on Google Scholar, Peter is also a Certified Carbon Assessment Professional and Fellow in multiple global institutes.
She is also an advocate, mentor, and policy influencer dedicated to building resilient solutions for Nigeria’s future.
