NHL 26 Reveals Shocking Player Ratings & Rebuilt 'Be A Pro' Mode!

EA Sports is generating significant buzz for the upcoming launch of NHL 26, having begun to unveil crucial details including initial player ratings and a completely rebuilt single-player mode. These revelations offer an exciting glimpse into the depth and realism that players can expect from the new ice hockey simulation title.

Among the first ratings released were those for the league's strongest defensemen. Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks has been crowned the most stalwart defender, earning a remarkable 95 OVR. His exceptional mobility and speed not only make him the highest-rated player at his position but also place him among the top five highest-rated athletes across the entire game. Following closely behind is Colorado Avalanche defender Cale Makar, who also boasts a 95 OVR, though with slightly lower stats in Speed and Passing, positioning him sixth overall. Chasing this elite duo with a 92 OVR each are Zach Werenski, Roman Josi, Victor Hedman, and Rasmus Dahlin. Werenski and Josi also manage to secure spots within the overall top 20 players. Beyond defensemen, EA Sports also revealed the top 20 wingers in NHL 26, split evenly between right and left wings. Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning takes the top spot for wingers with an impressive 96 OVR, making him the fourth highest-rated player overall in the game. Assigned the Playmaker style, Kucherov excels in stats such as Passing, Offensive Awareness, Deking, and Puck Control, enabling him to effortlessly set up scoring opportunities or take shots on goal himself. Filling out the top three are David Pastrnak from the Boston Bruins and Kirill Kaprizov of the Minnesota Wild, both rated at 94 OVR. Pastrnak generally holds an edge over Kaprizov in most categories and surpasses Kucherov in Acceleration and Speed. Following this trio are Mikko Rantanen, cover star Matthew Tkachuk, and Sam Reinhart, each with a 93 OVR.
