New Family Titles to Watch Over The Weekend of May 23
The weekend is here, which means a fresh batch of movie and TV titles are in the queue. Whether you're piling into the car on your way to the theater or piling onto the couch with your own snacks, there's plenty to watch as a family.
Here's your family watch list for the weekend of May 23.
Disney
The new live-action Lilo & Stitch movie is finally landing in theaters this weekend, and it should be a fun watch for both nostalgic fans of the original as well as newcomers. This reimagining brings CG animation to a real world environment to tell a heart-warming, culturally-rich family story with plenty of laughs.
We reviewed the film ahead of its release, and thought it was (appropriately) overflowing with "Ohana".
Apple TV+
Adventurers should pack their bags for this latest expedition on Apple TV+. Fountain of Youth stars John Krasinski and Natalie Portman as two estranged siblings who must come together for a quest to find the mythical fountain. They must use their knowledge of history to follow clues on an adventure that will change their lives and possibly lead to immortality.
Any Indiana Jones, Uncharted, or National Treasure fans may feel right at home with this one.

Netflix has been adapting R.L. Stein's Fear Street book series since 2021, and despite its R-rating, many consider it to be "gateway horror" for teens. The next installment in the series titled Fear Street: Prom Queen is the newest entry for families looking for an edgier watch with older kids.
The synopsis reads: Prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider puts herself in the running, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.
Disney+ brought back the crew from one of its Emmy-winning short-form series this week.
