Days after the Rockets initiated what ended up being a historical trade for Kevin Durant from the Suns involving seven teams, the 37-year-old finally broke his silence on the matter. He took to social media and penned down his feelings about the trade, especially in the context of bidding farewell to the Suns and showing gratitude where it is due. 

"My time in Phoenix has come to an end. All these stops along the journey have really impacted me in a positive way. Remember, it’s a world behind the scenes, and those who make things work in that space, work tirelessly to make our lives easier as players. I appreciate all the quick interactions with everybody from support staff to teammates, distant cousins, it’s all a family that I’m grateful to be a part of, no matter what. I truly believe the NBA is one big community. Much love to Arizona. Houston, Can’t Wait!"

While the above-mentioned quotes have been run through a grammar and spell-check, Durant seemingly did not do that before posting this message. Some fans saw this as an indication that, in an era where the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rising, Durant got lazy and used ChatGPT or some other AI to write his message for the Suns.

Fans took to the quotes and replies section of the X post and made sure to point that out to Durant, among other responses. Some pointed out his mistake, but a few also remembered his time with the Suns fondly.

"Don’t nobody gaf about a farewell tweet from you. You've been flipping teams and chasing rings since 2015. Your loyalty so cooked even ya mom worries about you dropping her."

"You ruined the Suns franchise."

"Bruh can win 2 rings and MVP but can't spell "Remember" Right"

"ChatGPT essay, and you misspelled one word, you can't fool me KD."

"'Remeber', did you hop from school to school as well?"

"Sad it didn’t work out, but glad it happened."

"You have become one of my favorite human beings. I love seeing how you handle media and trades with such class and grace."

"Thank you for all the good times. My first basketball game ever was a playoff win where you scored 30+ at home against Denver, and my children both really enjoyed watching you play. Good luck on the next chapter in your career."

The replies to his message were filled with such mixed comments of trolling, love, and criticism. During his time with the Suns, Durant averaged 26.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists. But he never managed to take them to the promised land of any success with the 'Big Three' alongside Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
