The young teacher allegedly died in the hands of the police, with allegations that a self-inflicted injury was the cause of his demise.

However, many Kenyans believe that there is more to the story and are demanding answers over what exactly happened in the prison cells.

Just hours after the news of his death broke out, Kenyans took to the streets demanding justice and asking the investigative bodies to take over.

Photos and videos of human rights defenders, including Hussein Khalid and Hanifa Adan, went on social media, showing them in the streets as they demanded justice.

The protesters were carrying placards showing Ojwang's face, with messages asking for the prosecution of those behind his alleged killing.

Questions have also arisen regarding his X account, which is currently missing on the said platform.

A quick seach of the late's X username Alberto Januzaj, takes you to the page but displays a message of 'Accoutn suspended.'

Kenyans are demanding to know when and who deactivated the account and where. It was done.

The information allegedly shared by Ojwang is also missing, therefore not clear what exacly he was being charged for.

Here are some of the reactions towards his account and his sudden death:

"Albert Ojwang was killed because of a tweet. Let that sink in. First it was the priests, now it’s a blogger, tomorrow it’s YOU, YOUR CHILD, or YOUR SPOUSE. We are now living in a country that has normalized state terror. We must rise and demand accountability and justice."

@LethalLesc said:
