Murkomen argued that Larry reports Kenyan issues negatively.

This comes a day after the journalist covered the memorial protests in Nairobi and even exposed police officers

"When they are reporting about Israel, America and the UK, they are very careful about their own countries. However, when they come to our country, they report it as it is. Some of the reporters are so happy that they think they have achieved because they are being cheered. So they think it is very nice to come and report about your country negatively," Murkomen said during his presser on Thursday, June 26.

Larry enjoyed covering the Wednesday, June 25, and was cheered by protesters. Many protesters came around him, jumping and chanting his name.

"Thanks for the love... I didn’t lose my phone or anything in this crowd. Not even the AirPods in my ears," he tweeted.

It should be noted that this is not the first time the CS has been publicly attacked, Larry.

In April 2024, Murkomen, then in charge of the Transport docket, criticised Larry for visually exposing leaking roofs at the JKIA.

"I saw Larry taking videos at the airport. I was laughing because Larry was with us in the country for the last 50 years when that airport was like that. Suddenly, because he lives in ‘majuu’ his eyes are open, and he realises that there is no shade when you exit JKIA. It is not news that JKIA does not have a canopy for shielding passengers; it is a fact. I want to tell Kenyans that by the time we are going to the next elections, we will have a new terminal at least complete or almost complete that will make JKIA a more competitive airport with facilities that are enviable and make us an aviation hub," Murkomen said.

On Wednesday, June 26, Larry came to the aid of a group of protesters who had been cornered by police officers in the Nairobi CBD.

The protesters, trapped in a narrow alley, accused the police of beating them and deploying tear gas.

Larry then moved to a nearby area where police officers had forced people, including security guards, to kneel.

He expressed concern about the unsafe conditions in which the individuals were being held.

Questioning the necessity of detaining uniformed security guards, Larry was approached by one protester who pleaded with him not to leave. They feared for their lives.

In response, the journalist encouraged the protesters to leave the area with him for their safety.
