GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - A local wildfire has prompted a multi-agency response.
Crews from the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Wildland Fire Team, Lower Valley Fire District, and Upper Colorado River Interagency Fire Management Unit all responded to a fire along a campsite near the Colorado River.
The campsite is located near Fault Line 1 that runs through the Redlands and along the Colorado National Monument.
Fire crews were on scene dropping water from a helicopter and Mesa County Search and Rescue Boat teams worked to prevent the fire from spreading along the shoreline.
