Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu has presented an AS Monaco replica jersey to President John Dramani Mahama during an official visit.
Currently in Ghana for the off-season break, Salisu paid a courtesy call on the head of state at his residence in Accra.
As a gesture of appreciation, the AS Monaco centre-back gifted Mahama with a replica of the club’s away kit.
The 26-year-old endured a challenging season, hampered by recurring injuries that limited his playing time.
After a promising start highlighted by a standout performance against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Salisu struggled to regain his spot in the team following his recovery.
Despite the setbacks, he managed to make 24 appearances and scored three goals for the French Ligue 1 side, commonly known as “The Rocks.”
Salisu, who has been linked with several transfer moves, is determined to return stronger in the upcoming season. Notably, he was left out of Ghana head coach Otto Addo’s squad for the Unity Cup tournament held in London last month.
