Meghan Markle's Podcast Interview

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, recently made her first podcast interview appearance on “The Jamie Kern Lima Show,” sporting a makeup-free look and a casual black sweat set embroidered with her children's names, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Host Jamie Kern Lima noted the comfortable setting, mentioning that their usual catch-ups involve cozy sweats and no makeup, setting the tone for an intimate conversation.

During the podcast, Meghan and Jamie reminisced about past gatherings with a similar casual vibe. Meghan agreed to the makeup-free episode, saying, “Let them see us.” The Duchess became emotional when speaking about her children, wiping away tears and joking, “This is why it’s nice to not have makeup on.”

The episode covered various topics, including Meghan's use of her last name, Markle, potential future books, and the possibility of running for office. She also shared insights into her life with Prince Harry and their children, emphasizing her gratitude for her supportive husband. Despite keeping her children mostly out of the public eye, Meghan has occasionally shared anecdotes and memories on social media and in her Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan.”

Meghan also revealed that she and Prince Harry used code names for each other at the start of their relationship, referring to each other by their initials, M and H, to maintain secrecy. These initials have since become affectionate nicknames used by close friends and family. Meghan expressed her fondness for nicknames and the personal connection they create.

Meghan discussed the freedom and openness she and Prince Harry have experienced since stepping down as senior royals in early 2020 and relocating to Montecito, California. This move allowed them to be more unrestricted in their demeanor and pursue various lifestyle and wellness endeavors.

The podcast interview also delved into Meghan's personal growth and resilience. She expressed that she no longer feels the need to prove herself, stating, “I don’t have to prove I’m a good person, or wife, or even mother.” This reflects a sense of liberation from past scrutiny and expectations.

Meghan shared a unique practice she has for her children, creating email IDs for them and sending them nightly emails to archive personal journals for them to receive when they are older. She is also still very much in love with Prince Harry, describing this phase of their relationship as a “honeymoon period,” enjoying the “breathing space” and freedom to enjoy one another in a new way after seven years together.
