Man stabbed in chest during Harehills street fight as six arrested - Leeds Live
A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being stabbed in the chest during a street fight in Leeds.
West Yorkshire Police officers have arrested five men and one woman after a mob was seen fighting in Sutherland Mount in Harehills at 7.21pm on Thursday, June 5. The group had fled in vehicles by the time officers had arrived, but shortly after they were called to St James's Hospital where a 28-year-old had been brought in with serious stab wounds.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Michael Wimbles said: “The victim has been stabbed and very seriously injured and remains in a critical condition in hospital. Detectives are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances and to identify further suspects."
A 45-year-old woman and five men aged 18, 22, 29, 43 and 45 have been arrested on suspicion of affray. They remain in custody while officers continue to investigate what happened.
A force spokesman said: "Detectives are appealing for information after a man was left critically injured after being stabbed in an incident in Leeds last night.
"From 7.21pm yesterday, police received multiple calls reporting people fighting in the street in Sutherland Mount, Harehills.
"When officers attended, those involved had left the scene in vehicles.
"A further call was received reporting a man had been brought to St James’s Hospital with a stab wound to the chest and was in a serious condition.
"The 28-year-old was found to be linked to the incident in Sutherland Mount. He has undergone emergency surgery and remains in a critical but stable condition.
"Five men, aged 18, 22, 29, 43 and 45, and a 45-year-old woman, have been arrested on suspicion of affray in relation to the incident and remain in custody."
The force said a police presence and cordons will remain in place today while officers continue to investigate. The spokesman said: "A scene remains in place in Sutherland Mount and detectives from Leeds District CID are continuing to carry out enquiries."
The force is now urging anyone with any information to come forward. DCI Wimbles said: “We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation, particularly anyone with relevant phone, doorbell or dashcam footage.
