According to multiple media reports, the aircraft was flying from Unalakleet to Nome when it went missing. The airplane had 10 people onboard.

The Cessna Caravan left Unalakleet at 2.37pm but officials lost contact with it one hour after take off.

David Olson, director of operations for Bering Air said search and rescue are currently ongoing.

His words:

"Staff at Bering Air are working hard to gather details, get emergency assistance, search and rescue going."

Meanwhile, a man who heard the news took to TikTok to react to it.

The man, @adivunsolicited was wondering what was going on in the US following reported air mishaps in recent days.

He said:

"All my life, airplane incidents were never reported in the news like they are now. Or something is going on. What do you guys think it is? Is it all human error? What is going on?"

Recall that a jetliner and an army helicopter collided in DC on January 29, killing 67 people. Also, a medical transportation plane crashed in Philadelphia on January 31, killing six people onboard and one person on the ground.

"I believe a lot of airplane incidents aren’t given much headline, and I’m thinking they’re letting the people know now because I bet they don’t know what to do. Sounds similar to fires recently."

@Carolyn said:

"I’m about to hit the amtrack website because I have to go to Chicago but I’m good on planes now."

@Lili said:

"Good Lord! What is going on?"

@poohda_1978 said:

"I don't know what's going on but usually fly from Atlanta to BWI Maryland every other week but when I leave Maryland on Monday I'll be on Amtrax."

@Elsenordelosfrijoles said:

"Did we all forget that regulations have been cut? A few years ago people working at airlines started letting people know that no one was checking their work anymore. That planes were being made shoddily now."

In a related story reported by Legit.ng, a lady said she is now scared of flying after two aircraft collided with each other by their tails at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, DC.

The lady was wondering what was going on in the US in recent days as there have been two reported aviation incidents recently, but no injuries were reported in the latest collision.

She joked that she was going to be driving to her journeys and avoid air travel, and if driving was not an option, she would go by train.
