The FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, has commended the critical contributions of women in transforming Nigeria’s education sector, emphasising their active roles in administration, mentorship and research.
Speaking at the second national conference of the Association of Women in Colleges of Education (WICE) in Zuba, Abuja, Mahmoud emphasised the significance of women in shaping future generations through their diverse involvement in academic institutions.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the FCT Education Secretariat, Mrs. Joy Okeke, the minister praised WICE for its unwavering commitment to gender inclusion, academic excellence, and professional growth within the colleges of education.]
She noted that the association’s consistent advocacy has become instrumental in creating opportunities for women to lead and innovate in educational institutions across the country.
