Mahama is a consistent and disciplined leader - Shamima Muslim

Published 2 weeks ago2 minute read

Shamima Muslim, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, has praised President John Dramani Mahama as a leader who exemplifies consistency, discipline, and decisiveness in governance.

According to her, Mahama’s calm and measured approach should not be mistaken for leniency, as he has demonstrated the ability to take firm action against underperforming or errant appointees when necessary.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show on Thursday, February 27, Shamima Muslim discussed Mahama’s leadership qualities in an insightful conversation with host Bernard Avle. She described him as a thoughtful and composed statesman who governs with balance, fairness, and firmness.

“In terms of his persona, Mahama has been quite consistent. I started following him when he started coming on the media as a pundit with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and I have always admired his calm expression in dealing with issues with no anger. I have never witnessed him being angry.”

She further emphasized that Mahama’s calm demeanor should not be seen as a sign of weakness or indecision, as he has consistently taken decisive action when required.

“Even when his words are biting, you won’t see aggression from him. He is a calm leader, but that doesn’t make him weak because when he needs to strike, he does. Anyone who works with him knows that you can’t take his leniency as a weakness to do as you please because he will put you in your place if you deserve to be put in your place.”

Shamima’s remarks highlight Mahama’s leadership style as one rooted in composure and strategic action, reinforcing his reputation as a leader who listens but also acts when necessary.
