Mahama holds stakeholder consultation with Constitution Review Committee

President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday, March 5, 2025, hosted members of the Constitution Review Committee at their maiden stakeholder engagement.

The Committee, chaired by Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh, engaged the President to seek his views on the constitutional review process and areas he believed required amendment.

During the engagement, the Committee also briefed the President on their work so far and highlighted areas where they needed additional support.

President Mahama expressed appreciation for their efforts and satisfaction with the progress made. He pledged his government’s continued support for the review process.

He also identified key issues such as the election of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), the emoluments of Article 71 officeholders, and the appointment of Ministers from Parliament as areas requiring amendment to strengthen Ghana’s governance framework.
