Liverpool FC - Milan Jovanovic

Published 6 days ago1 minute read

After five years at Standard Liege, in 2010 a free transfer was agreed for Jovanovic to join the Reds by manager Rafael Benitez.

However, by the time he arrived that summer, Benitez had been replaced in the dugout by Roy Hodgson, and the left-sided attacker was unable to exhibit the talent that had brought him to the club's attention.

Jovanovic began the season in the starting XI but only scored twice before the turn of the year, with Kenny Dalglish then assuming the reins from Hodgson.

He was named in the matchday squad just five times by the legendary Scot and did not take to the pitch for the Reds again after mid-February.

In the summer of 2011, he completed a return to Belgian football with Anderlecht.
