Linda Cardellini To Star In 'Friday The 13th' Prequel 'Crystal Lake'

Linda Cardellini (Dead to Me, No Good Deed) has closed a deal to star as Pamela Voorhees in Peacock‘s Friday the 13th expanded prequel series Crystal Lake from A24.

Brad Caleb Kane serves as creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer:of the series, whose premise is being kept under wraps.

Cardellini’s Pamela is believed to be a mother who had given up a singing career to raise a special needs child and takes a dark turn when she loses her son.

In the Friday the 13th movies, Pamela is the mother of Jason Voorhees and a main antagonist. She was portrayed by Betsy Palmer in the original film. The role has subsequently been played by Marilyn Poucher, Paula Shaw and Nana Visitor in various sequels, crossover and reboot movies.

Crystal Lake is executive produced by A24, Kane, Marc Toberoff, Victor Miller, Robert M. Barsamian, Robert P. Barsamian and Stuart Manashil.

Cardellini is filming the female lead role in HBO’s upcoming limited series DTF St. Louis opposite Jason Bateman and David Harbour. She was one of the leads in Season 1 of Netflix’s mystery comedy Dead to Me whose future is still in limbo though Cardellini’s arc was largely wrapped in the finale. She is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
