Late-actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s ex-manager Disha Salian’s case: Father seeks probe into her death nearly after five years

The family of

Disha Salian

, who was the former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh probe into her death, which occurred in June 2020. Disha’s father, Satish Salian, has filed a petition alleging that his daughter was “brutally rap*d and murdered,” followed by a politically orchestrated cover-up to protect certain influential individuals.
According to the reports, the petition urges the court to direct the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and to transfer the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Satish Salian’s lawyer, Nilesh Ojha, stated that they are in the process of filing the petition and expect it to be officially registered in the High Court’s registry department on Thursday.
The plea contends that the Mumbai Police hastily concluded Disha’s death as a case of suicide or accidental death without thoroughly considering forensic evidence, circumstantial proof, and eyewitness testimonies. Initially, the family believed the investigation conducted by the city police was genuine but now suspects it was a cover-up.
Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after reportedly falling from the 14th floor of a residential building in Mumbai’s Malad area. The Mumbai Police had registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) at that time. Just days later, on June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra apartment. While the city police initially termed Sushant’s death as a case of suicide, the investigation was later handed over to the CBI.

The plea has elicited varied reactions from political figures. Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Kishori Pednekar questioned the timing of the petition, suggesting a possible conspiracy behind its emergence after more than four years. She noted that previous inquiries, including those by the CID and an SIT, had already been conducted.
As of now, there has been no official response from Aaditya Thackeray or representatives of the Shiv Sena (UBT) regarding the allegations made in the petition. The Bombay High Court is expected to review the plea and determine the course of action concerning the requested fresh investigation into Disha Salian’s death.
