Kenya Power has listed areas in nine counties scheduled for power interruption on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

The utility firm said areas in nine counties will face power cuts at diverse times of the day between 9 am to 5 pm.

The power interruption will facilitate system maintenance.

Counties to be affected include Nairobi, Nakuru, Bomet, Uasin Gishu, Kakamega, Migori, Nyeri, Embu and Kiambu.

Nairobi

Parts of Nairobi will face power interruption from 9 am to 5 pm.

They are Muthithi Road, Ojijo Road, Parkland Road, Mpesi Road, and Mogotio Road.

At the same time, areas including part of Juja Road, Moi Airbase, Total Petrol Station, OLA Petrol Station, St. Teresa School, Shell Petrol Station and Part of Mlango Kubwa will experience power interruption in Nairobi.

Nakuru

Areas in Nakuru will face power interruption from 9 am to 4 pm.

They include Meadows, Free Area, Kwa Murogi, Baharini Nawassco Boreholes, Naka, Happy Cow, Sec 58, Dog Secondary, Kabachia, Kisulisuli, YMCA, Ebony, Jamhuri and Menengai and Lions Schools.

Bomet

Parts of Bomet will face power cuts from 9 am to 4 pm.

They include the whole of Abosi, Olchobosei, Njipiship, Ndamama, Tagitech, Rongai, Emurua Dikkir, Murkan Market, Kurangurik Market, Mogondo Market and adjacent customers.

Uasin Gishu

Areas in Uasin Gishu set to experience power disruption from 8 am to 5 pm include Kitingia, Cherus, Ndungulu, Kaptega, Kapsundei, Sengalo, Chereber, Kapchorwa, Ndanai, Ngarua, Kondoo, Kapkeno, Languse, Kaptega Cheboror and adjacent customers.

Kakamega

Parts of Kakamega set for power interruption from 8.30 am to 5 pm include Samitsi, Khalenda, Malava, Malanga, Malichi, Kimangeti, Tumbeni, Kakoi, Kambi Mwanza, Shamberere, West Kenya Sugar Factory, Ingavira, Kambiri, Ileho and adjacent customers.

Other areas in Kakamega are KMTC Kakamega, Ebwabwa, Shinyalu, Emusala, Emukaba, Lubao Market and Bukhaywa.

Migori

Parts of Migori will face power cuts from 9 am to 4 pm are Migori Town, Shell Petrol Station, Total Petrol Station, Migori TTC, Jua Kali Migori, ABS Bank, Life Care Hospital, Nyikendo, Magina Boosters Migori Hospital, Oruba, Wouth Ogik, Nyikendo, Bansi Mega and Banana Onding Mon.

Other areas are Seka, Oriang, Duga, Pala, Kendubay, Kamondia, Nyakwere, Rakwaro, Osodo, Kobala, Makaka, Kogweno, Oneno Nam, Nyangwete, Arosi, Pala Prisons, Oyuma, Nyakongo, Adiedo and Omboga.

Nyeri

Areas in Nyeri to face power cuts from 9 am to 5 pm include Muthinga Market, Gichira, Kiangacha, Kangaita, Gondo, Kiriko, Kanderendu, and Eucabet.

Embu

Parts of Embu to face power cuts from 9 am to 5 pm are Manyatta, Kavutiri, Mungania, Kamugere, Kathande, Rutune, Kiriari, Mbuvori and Kianjokoma Karuriri.

Kiambu

 Parts of Kiambu will face power cuts from 9 am to 5 pm.

They are Mukuyuini, Juja Farm Athi, Kwa Murage, Kwa Ruhi, Komo Market, Fara Inya, Munyu Girls, Githima S/Centre and Magana Primary.
