They were also made to sign a bond of good behaviour for two years.

Two others, who pleaded not guilty have also been remanded and scheduled to reappear on July 2, 2025.

One of other person was fined while another was granted bail.

The Head of Public Affairs of West African Examinations Council (WAEC), John Kapi, who confirmed the prosecution of the eight, said four were teachers who were all invigilators, one administrator in one of the private schools.

Apart from the arrests, he said everything went well.

Mr Kapi said the council was going to call the various police officers investigating the other cases in order to know exactly what they were going to do. 

“In the meantime we are trying to reach out to our friends in the police service to impress upon the investors to prosecute the cases as early as possible,” he said.

So far, he said the council pleased with the development, in terms of prosecution so far, and believed that it would serve as a deterrent to a lot of people, going forward in the conduct of examinations in the country.

Aside prosecuting them, Mr Kapi said the Ghana Education Service could go ahead and take action against them, adding that it would apply its rules based on its code of conduct.

“We would also compile the list and hand it over to the GES for action,” he said.

 The court was presided over by Her Ladyship Amoah Kamkam Lily.

The four sentenced are Diana Tii, a teacher at Krabonso D/A School and Sylvester, also a teacher and an accomplice of Diana

The others are Boi Edmond Merratro, a teacher Just Love International School and Samuel Waabero, an administrator of the same school.

Diana, who pleaded guilty with explanation, was caught distributing photocopied materials to candidates in the examination hall.

She pleaded guilty with explanation and sentenced to 30 days in prison and placed on a two-year bond for good behavior.

He accomplice, Sylvester, assisted her in smuggling photocopies into the examination hall.

Master Paul Busi, a Student of Kintampo College of Health was caught with computing examination questions on his phone.

He pleaded guilty with remorse and was fined 100 penalty units (equivalent to GHc 1,200).

For his part, Boi Edmond Merratro caught solving computing questions in the school dining hall.

He pleaded guilty with explanation and sentenced to 30 days in prison with hard labor.

Mr Waabero, was caught solving computing questions in the school dining hall.

He pleaded guilty with explanation and sentenced to 30 days in prison with hard labor.

Ms Adjeiwaa, a fashion designer from Techiman was caught with photocopied answers to Computing Paper 2.

She pleaded not guilty and was remanded into police custody to reappear on July 2, 2025 while Haruna Mohammed, a teacher at Kintampo

Senior High School, was caught with a phone containing Social Studies questions during the exam.

He pleaded not guilty and was remanded into police custody to reappear on July 2, 2025.

Sadique Abubakar, a teacher at Kintampo Senior High School was caught in the exam hall with answers to the objective test of Computing Paper 1. He pleaded guilty with explanation and was granted court bail of GHS 10,000 with two sureties.

He is to reappear on July 2, 2025.
