Kimani Ichung'wah Claims Protesters Raided His Business, Attempted to Kill Parents
"I am growing old, but am not older than my father, and they have worked hard to bring us up and to raise businesses that have supported our family. Yesterday, honourable speaker, there was an attempt to kill my parents," Ichung'wah disclosed.
The Kikuyu MP stated that his family was targeted because he holds the position of being the National Assembly majority leader.
Ichung'wah's revelation caused the Members of Parliament present during the proceedings to be surprised, probably in shock at the extent to which protesters were willing to go.
He further accused the former deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua, of being behind the plot to have his parents killed.
"I dare say today in this house, that honourable Rigathi Gachagua is the one who directed the goons he mobilised to go and murder my parents, destroy my property in Kikuyu. Destroy the property of the people of Kikuyu in the name of revenge. Honourable speaker, we cannot build a country that way," Ichung'wah said.
He further revealed, his business and family were not the only ones that were affected in his constituency. He stated that the Kikuyu law courts were razed, and the sub-county and county offices were also destroyed.
Ichung'wah claimed that the people who destroyed properties in his constituency were hired to carry out the task.
"People were being ferried from Limuru and Dagoretti into Kikuyu and smoke as far as Kiambaa and Juja to come and do the destruction that you saw yesterday.
