Keyamo In Sokoto, Unveils New Airport Access Road
Mr. Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has commissioned the newly constructed access road to Sokoto’s Sadiq Abubakar III International Airport.
According to Mr. Tunde Moshood, the minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Keyamo used the visit to lay the groundwork for the construction of a new protocol lounge at the airport as part of ongoing efforts to modernise the country’s aviation infrastructure.
The statement suggested that the minister was greeted by Dr. Ahmed Sokoto, the Governor of Sokoto State, as the visit coincided with the governor’s second year in office.
According to Moshood, the event highlighted the spirit of collaboration between the federal and state governments in providing high-quality infrastructure that improves air travel, safety, and the passenger experience.
According to the statement, Keyamo stated that the airport serves not only Sokoto but also the entire North-Western region.
“These infrastructure upgrades are critical for improving the passenger experience and facilitating regional development,” he stated.
Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and some of the agency’s top directors were among those that accompanied the minister.
Traditional rulers, state officials, and aviation stakeholders were among those in attendance at the event.
Keyamo’s visit reflects the Federal Government’s ongoing investment in aviation infrastructure, which is a critical driver of economic growth, regional integration, and national pride, according to the statement.
