This is part of the government’s ambitious plan to expand access to low-cost housing across the country.

According to a public tender advertisement published by the Ministry of Land, a total of 47 projects have been rolled out across 34 counties, targeting both urban and rural constituencies.

The tenders are being floated under open competitive bidding and will cover areas such as Nairobi, Kisumu, Murang’a, Nyeri, Nakuru, Migori, Embu, and West Pokot, among others.

Each project will vary in size, with unit allocations ranging from 200 to 1,600 units depending on the location and anticipated demand.

The largest project is in Nakuru Town East, which is set to receive 1,600 units, while others like Subukia in Nakuru and Wundanyi in Taita Taveta are planned for 220 and 300 units, respectively.

Prospective tenderers can access detailed tender documents from the State Department's website or the Public Procurement Information Portal free of charge.

Submission of completed tender documents must be done by June 18, 2025, at Ardhi House in Nairobi.

"Prospective tenderers can access the tender documents from the State Department’s website www.housingandurban.go.ke or the Public Procurement Information Portal (PPIP) https://tenders.go.ke free of charge. In other news, the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has invited bids for cleaning, garbage collection, and branded staff uniform supply contracts set to run for two years.

Three out of four tenders are exclusively reserved for businesses owned by women, youth, and persons living with disabilities (PLWDs).

Virtual pre-bid meetings for the reserved tenders are scheduled for May 27, 2025, and the uniform supply tender meeting will be held on May 28, 2025.

The bid submissions close on June 5 and June 10, 2025, depending on the tender category, and interested bidders can access documents via the KRA website or the Public Procurement Information Portal.
