Later that year, The Batman Part II screenwriter Mattson Tomlin was tapped to pen the movie’s script, which would also see Reeves portray the leading role. The comic follows an immortal warrior who knows only violence and fights in countless battles over centuries.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, . This move will also mark a reunion between Lin and Reeves, with the actor previously stepping in to help fund Lin’s independent drama Last Days. Lin is also set to produce the film under his Perfect Storm banner. The official logline from Netflix and Boom! Studios reads:

[BRZRKR is a] brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior’s 80,000 year fight through the ages. The man known only as ‘B’ is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence, even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge — working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires — the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence … and how to end it.

With BRZRKR’s first issue selling over 615,000 copies following its initial release, in recent years. With this kind of buzz, combined with the considerable interest generated by Reeves’ involvement as both the star and original creator, the movie adaptation was already shaping up to be an exciting project.
