An old family home of Patrick Mahomes, the Super Bowl-winning NFL superstar, is experiencing a sale freeze. Located in Tyler, Texas, the house where Patrick Mahomes has continued to live, is the childhood home of Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback.
You'd think a childhood home of a superstar who just won the Super Bowl would practically sell itself? But it hasn't happened that way. No one is buying it and even after the price has been lowered, it has still not sold. So, what's wrong with Patrick Mahomes' childhood home?
The location of the property is Tyler, Texas. It has an excellent pedigree since it was the childhood home of NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes. The home is for sale by his mother, Randi Mahomes who listed the home for sale in 2023 for $500,000.
It is a large home with four bedrooms and an outside swimming pool. But even with these features, people are not interested.
Randi Mahomes has now dropped the price by more than $100,000. As of June 2025, the home is listed at around $400,000. According to the real estate site Zillow, the property has been sitting for months with no serious offers. Many fans were surprised. They expected a house linked to Patrick Mahomes to sell quickly.
Randi Mahomes shared a message on Facebook earlier this year saying, “This was our home, where memories were made. I hope the next family finds happiness here too.” But for now, the house remains unsold.
Patrick Mahomes was born in Tyler on September 17, 1995 and spent most of his childhood in the city. Patrick Mahomes’ dad, Pat Mahomes Sr., was a Major League Baseball pitcher. The family house had memories from those years.
But, the experts say, the issue is not driven by who lived there, but where that house is located.
Real estate agents in Tyler told KETK News in May 2025 that the market in the area is slow. One agent said, “People here aren’t looking to pay that much for history. They care more about location and updates.” So even though it’s Patrick Mahomes’ childhood home, that may not be enough to seal the deal. Also Read: Kansas City Chiefs Risk Sabotaging Patrick Mahomes' Super Bowl Hopes By Delaying $23 Million Trey Smith Deal
