Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced plans to create 63,360 jobs annually for youth in the garment industry across the state’s 44 local government areas.

He disclosed this while reopening the garment industry cluster in Kura LGA, which was established under Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s administration between 2011 and 2015.

The governor explained that the reopening of the garment clusters marks a significant step towards fulfilling his campaign promises and also a step towards ensuring a better life for youths in the state.

Meanwhile, Professor Murtala Sabo Sagagi of Dangote Business School, Bayero University Kano (BUK), and a renowned veteran in the garment industry, Alhaji Sa’id Dattijo Adhama, have commended the governor’s efforts in revitalising the garment industry, describing the move by the state government as a sustainable attempt in the state’s economic progress.
